Vasilis Dakos is a senior researcher in the Biodiversity Dynamics: Interactions and Conservation Laboratory at the Institut des Sciences de l’Evolution de Montpellier (ISEM) at CNRS (the French National Scientific Research Centre). With a background in Biology and Environmental Sciences, Vasilis’ research interests broadly cover ecological stability and ecological tipping points under global environmental change. In particular, his research focuses on the emerging topic of indicators of resilience (or early warning signals) for critical transitions in complex systems. Vasilis uses models and numerical simulations and confronts them with empirical data. Recently, Vasilis is studying how trait diversity may effect ecosystem resilience under stress.
