MANTEL ITN

The fifth MANTEL Training School was held at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Tartu, Estonia from 8-10 October, 2019. 

 

The aim of the three-day workshop was ensure that all ESRs had the opportunity to develop skills in applying dynamic models, which are widely used in the water sector, including those ESRs who do not have a modelling component in their individual PhD projects. The hands-on workshop sessions included the dynamic models F-Lake and GOTM. Two students who had already developed modelling skills through their individual PhDs also acted as teaching assistants for this workshop, thus developing their own teaching portfolios. The ESRs also received training in writing and publication submission to journals, in time management (Fig. 1), as well as presenting on their project progress and PhD experience. The meeting also included a Supervisory Board meeting available over Zoom.
