Miquel Lurling is a limnologist and associate professor at the Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management Group of Wageningen University, The Netherlands. He is also guest researcher at the department of Aquatic Ecology of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW), Wageningen. Miquel received his PhD degree (cum laude) in plankton ecology in 1999, his MSc degree (cum laude) in limnology in 1994, and the University Teacher Qualification in 2002. His work focuses specifically on eutrophication control, mitigating cyanobacteria nuisance including whole lake experiments and the mechanisms that regulate the blooming of harmful algae. He has
published more than 125 peer-reviewed documents (h-factor 38, Scopus, 20/08/2017). Miquel is chairman of the Working Group on Lake Restoration of the Societas Internationalis Limnologiae (SIL).
